A space or gap between two or more teeth. It is most commonly seen between the two upper front teeth (midline diastema).
While often a cosmetic concern, large gaps can trap food, leading to gum issues. It can be caused by a thick labial frenum (muscle attachment under the lip) pushing the teeth apart.
