A zirconia crown is a full ceramic cap that fits over your existing tooth. It protects what is underneath while looking and feeling like your own. Zirconia is metal-free, strong, lightweight, and safe for your body. It does not leave a dark line at the gum. Each crown is designed digitally, milled to a precise fit, and finished by hand by our ceramists to match your shade and texture.

Unlike older metal-based crowns, zirconia works well for both front and back teeth. Front crowns are layered with translucent ceramic for a natural look. Back crowns use the full strength of solid zirconia to handle biting and chewing. The right approach for each tooth, planned during your first consultation.

Preparation

Digital Smile Preview

Your tooth is shaped and prepared for the zirconium crown. A thin layer of the tooth’s surface is removed to accommodate the crown. The dentist will shape the tooth to ensure suitability for the zirconium crown. If necessary, your dentist might also perform a digital scan of the tooth.

Precision Preparation

Your dentist will take impressions of the prepared tooth. These impressions are sent to a dental laboratory to create a custom zirconium crown.

Ceramist Crafting

The production of the zirconium crown may take a few days. During this time, a temporary crown may be placed to protect the prepared tooth.

Placement

Placement & Refinement

Once the zirconium crown is ready, your dentist checks its fit and suitability. If it fits well, the crown is permanently placed. The dentist bonds the crown to the tooth and makes final adjustments.

Lifetime Care

After the zirconium crown is placed, the dentist might schedule follow-up appointments for checks. Additionally, maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are important for ensuring the longevity of the crown.
