Orthognathic Surgery

Corrective jaw surgery performed by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to treat skeletal mismatches that orthodontics alone cannot fix. It involves cutting and repositioning the bones of the upper (Le Fort I) or lower (BSSO) jaw.

Why It Matters

It is medically necessary for patients who cannot chew properly, have severe sleep apnea due to a recessed jaw, or have significant facial asymmetry.
