Oral Cancer Screening

A routine examination performed by a dentist to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in the mouth. It involves visually inspecting the lips, tongue, and soft tissues and palpating (feeling) the neck and jaw for lumps.

Why It Matters

Oral cancer is often painless in early stages. Visual screening can detect leukoplakia (white patches) or erythroplakia (red patches) before they become malignant.
