Subperiosteal Implant

A custom-made metal framework that sits on top of the jawbone but underneath the gum tissue. Posts stick up through the gums to hold dentures.

Why It Matters

It is an alternative for patients who have lost so much bone (atrophy) that standard screw-type implants (Endosteal) cannot be placed, and who cannot undergo bone grafting.
